About Mia

The decision to seek counselling is a meaningful and often life-changing choice - one that reflects a deep inner longing for change, healing, or simply to feel more at home within yourself. If you’ve found your way here, I want to acknowledge the strength it takes to reach out, and to say how genuinely glad I am that you're taking this step.

I consider it an honour to witness your story and to walk alongside you with care and authenticity. I believe that healing happens through relationship, when we feel truly seen, gently supported, and met with compassion. My intention is to offer you a space that feels steady, warm, and attuned to your needs. A space where all parts of you are welcome, and where nothing is too much.

I approach this work through a trauma-informed, culturally competent, inclusive, and anti-oppressive lens. My framework is rooted in humanistic and systemic approaches, with particular influence from Person-Centered, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and AEDP therapies. These modalities honour your innate wisdom and allow space for the complexity of your inner world. They invite you into a deeper understanding of yourself - not by fixing or forcing change, but by nurturing the conditions for healing to emerge naturally, from within.

In our work together, I will support you in reconnecting with the parts of you that may feel wounded, stuck, or lost, while also gently guiding you toward the inner strength, clarity, and Self-leadership that already lives inside you.

My areas of focus include trauma, inner child healing, and challenges related to self-worth, such as low confidence, chronic self-doubt, and feelings of not being good enough. I hold a deep respect for the tenderness that often lives beneath these struggles, and I’m passionate about walking with you as you begin to soften old patterns, care for the parts of you that have felt unseen or unheard, and move toward a more grounded, empowered sense of self.

As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), sensitivity has always been a guiding force in my life. It was through listening to that inner attunement that I found myself drawn to this work - not as a career decision, but as a calling that felt both intuitive and inevitable. Over the years, I’ve come to see the power in sensitivity: how it invites deep presence, emotional depth, and relational trust. In that same space, I’ve discovered my own sturdiness - the kind that allows me to hold others with compassion while staying grounded in myself. I feel especially called to help people make sense of their stories and reconnect with the parts of themselves that long to be understood.

Outside of the therapy room, I find a lot of comfort in nature and in the company of animals. Cats in particular have always felt like mystical little soul companions - wise, present, and tender. I also love nature walks, salmon sashimi, and art in its many forms (especially pottery which holds the imprint of the hands that made them).

If any of this resonates with you, it would be a pleasure to connect.
