“Befriending one's parts is not simply a therapeutic endeavor: it also contributes to developing the practice of self-acceptance, one part at a time.” — Janina Fisher
Welcome to my practice. I’m so glad you’re here!
Do your emotions, physical sensations, surroundings, or memories overwhelm you at times? Do
you feel exhausted from trying to keep things “in check”?
You may know exactly what you want to work through, or you may just have a feeling that
something isn’t quite right. I’ve had these feelings too, and I know that we can work together to
lighten the load you carry.
My approach is deeply rooted in Internal Family Systems Therapy, which welcomes the idea that
humans are made up of many different parts, each one assuming a unique role and helping us
survive. Due to trauma and intergenerational wounds, parts of you may develop protective
tendencies. With time, these tendencies can start to feel normal and familiar, but they can also
hinder growth. Together, we can witness and befriend these parts of you. I believe only you have
the innate wisdom that can guide us to investigate and communicate with them. Your curiosity
shows your courage.
For the past decade, my work teaching swimming lessons to a diverse range of individuals has
paired well with my curiosity for learning about our most playful and fearful sides. Like with
swimming, you don’t need to jump into the deep end right away, we can move at a pace that
feels right for you.
I strive to work through an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed framework by honouring how
your past and present experiences are connected to larger systems that influence your daily life.
I’m invested in co-creating a therapy space that is safe and invites all parts of you to play, cry,
rest, rage, and everything in between. Let's discover the unique version of counselling that suits
you.
